Metamorphoses
In a world shaped by myth, the stakes are high and the consequences irreversible. This beautiful, original retelling of Metamorphoses reimagines ancient stories with a contemporary twist, exploring what happens when change is thrust upon us without warning. Gods transform mortals in an instant — but what does transformation mean when it arrives in real life?
Oxford People’s Theatre presents their latest intergenerational community production, co-created together with a participant living with Motor Neurone Disease and navigating rapidly shifting capabilities and horizons. Performed by a cast of 35, the piece weaves together myth and lived experience in a heartfelt, searching exploration of resilience, absurdity and hope.
Through poetry, humour and raw honesty, this is a story about loss and adaptation — and about finding meaning in a world that refuses to stand still.
